![]() I'm not sure you know this controller well. On the other hand, I am a beta tester for Tango. Thanks for you help, but I seriously think that this command is very important for every DAW and hope it will be implemented one day, soon !Īll the Mackie controls are via simple CC commands. With this controller, I can simply place the locators on a timecode in a much quicker way.īut the other problem is if you need to have fix locators for different reasons like when you need to jump to a section of the project often. When you have 80 tracks, it's almost impossible to keep the zoom on few tracks all the time since you will need to have an overview of the project.Īnother thing is if the part is too long, I have to zoom out to fit the part in the window, select the cycle section then zoom in at the beginning and the end to place the locators precisely. I have to zoom often to be precise enough for my selection and place the locators where needed. Holding down the cycle button to select a section is not precise enough. The cycle selection is the only way of selecting a region but it doesn't let you select an audio part entirely, jump on the beginning apply a fade in, jump to the end and apply a fade out. As I already said, this command is available on most of the the other softwares I use Pyramix, Nuendo and Pro Tools. The problem comes from logic that doesn't let you simply select a region with a simple shortcut or key command. ![]() I use a high end controller the Smart av Tango Īs you can judge by yourself, there is not much shortcomings with this baby. Sorry for the late reply, but I was pretty busy these last days. Just about anything is possible with those rascally little key commands.Īlthough Logic cannot guess at which track and region you wish to edit, it is possible thru Key Commands to get there.įor example, you can set some of your controller buttons to select a mixer channel strip (which will also move the related arrange track selection), and then use some buttons to select the region on that track.įrom that point you can experiment with other key commands to continue editing. ![]() I was referring to the Key Command arrows. However, I didn't mention anything about a keyboard either. I missed the part about not wanting to use the Keyboard. I just need to know if an option/setting in Logic can select the region under the cursor (play head) to let me edit it with my controller. ![]() That's not what I want to achieve since it's much longer to jump from the controller to the keyboard and back to the controller to edit regions. I'm aware that I can select different tracks and regions with the Keyboard arrows. ![]()
